Line Scan Cameras
Perhaps the most common example of line scan imaging is the fax machine. Line scan imaging uses a single line of sensor pixels (effectively one-dimensional) to build up a two-dimensional image. The second dimension results from the motion of the object being imaged. Two-dimensional images are acquired line by line by successive single-line scans while the object moves (perpendicularly) past the line of pixels in the image sensor. For a given field of view, one line scan camera typically provides more resolution than multiple area scan cameras, at a lower cost, without image smear or the redundant processing of frame overlaps.
Area Scan Cameras
Teledyne Imaging area scan cameras are based on the industry’s most innovative image sensor technology from manufacturers including Sony®, On Semiconductor®, and our own Teledyne Imaging sensors. Our area scan cameras offer support for a variety of interfaces, from GigE Vision (1 to 5 GigE) and USB3 Vision, to Camera Link, Camera Link HS, and CoaXPress – allowing seamless integration with virtually any imaging system.
GegE Cameras
Teledyne DALSA’s GigE Vision Cameras add breakthrough speeds with low cost performance. Equipped with high-resolution CMOS sensors that deliver images with faster frame rates with Teledyne DALSA’s Turbodrive ™ technology. All of Teledyne DALSA’s GigE cameras are based on the AIA GigE Vision Standard and are easy to set up with a PC.
